of the roots of Scorzonera and of sharpe tarter of each ℥ss Gallengal the lesser, wood of Cassia and Cloue giliflowers of Each ℥ i put these into a glass vessell and mixe them well and sett them in a hote place, stiringe them often for 2 days, after boyle them and Cleere them through an Hippocrites bagg, and soe you haue the steele Claret wyne/ Mynsichts Elixir of Vitriol/ Take of Gallingal the lesser ℥ i-ss sweet reed ℥ i Crisped mint sharpe poynted Sage, each ℥ss Cinamon Elect, Cloues: white ginger Each ℥iij nutmegs Cubebs of Each ℥ij wood of Alloes the the Rhines of Citron Each ℥i make these into A fyne powder to which ad ℥ iij of white sugarcandie, afterwards moysten itt in the best spirit of wyne that A mixture may be made to the Consistancie of honey Putt it into A Glass and poure vpon itt oyle of vitrol (or indefect) the spirit of vitrol diuers tymes rectifyed to the height of 4 fingers and sett itt to digest 3 or 4 weeks, att lenth remoue and filtrate the tincture by Inclination, but vpon the substance (left in the bottom) Poure on Spirit of wyne and further draw out Accordinge to art, Aspargyvtitate Essence: afterwards circulate itt i4 days in B: M: for the greater eficacy of the medicine, the mixed Extractions of the tincture and Reserue it for use/ A Nobler and more Eficatious medicine is not yeat found (in afections of the Stomach) in the whoel Comon welth of Phisicke taken in an apropriate vehicle from: 15: to: 20: drops
