Be it Resolved,
We, Your Committee,
That the Committee on Public Buildings be instructed to inspect the roofs of the various public buildings and resport on the condition of same. giving estimates of the probable cost of necessary improvements to be made thereon.

Wheras, the International Association of Chief Engineers, meet in Indianapolis, Ind. on the 27.28.29. & 30. of Aug 1901. and whereas all progressive and up todate cities will be represented, in order that their chief may learn and teach others, and whereas theperfect knowledge of handling fires is essential not only to saving property, but also to saving lives.
And in order that our own city may receive all the benefit possible from such gathering,
Therefore be it resolved that a leave of absence is hereby granted Fire Chief J.H. Maddox.to attend the aforesaid meeting, and the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars $150.00 is hereby appropriated out of the general fund to pay expences for such purposes, and order for this amount to be drawn to said J.H.Maddox order.
