The minutes of former meeting were read and approved of.

The accounts for printing and binding the College Ode on the visit of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, etc. were submitted and found correct, and Dr. Williamson undertook to lay them before the Trustees.

The Secretary was instructed to get Matriculation Tickets printed, without presenting which no students can receive a Class ticket, or be considered a member of the University, or have access to the Library. It was resolved that the Class-tickets in the Faculties of Arts and Divinity shall be taken out within two weeks after the opening of each class, after which period no one shall be admitted to the Classes except by special permission of the Senatus.

It was likewise unanimously resolved that the Students in Arts and Divinity shall be required to wear College Caps and Gowns;—the Gowns for Arts Students to be black with narrow-red trimming down the front, and sleeves—for the Divinity Students Black Gowns with Velvet Collars. The Students are required to wear their gowns and Caps while going to and from College, in their Classes, and on all public occasions. A penalty of twenty-five Cents is annexed to every infraction of these regulations.

It was further resolved that in future the Professors shall wear gowns and Caps in their class-rooms.

The Library accounts were submitted, and found correct, viz.

Professors George, Lawson, Mowat and Weir The minutes of former meeting were read and approved of.

Mr. Phillips' request to be allowed to enter College in December on the expiry of his present engagement, was complied with in the peculiar circumsatnces of the case, on condition that he is on Examination found qualified.

The following Students were examined on the subjects for matriculation as Intrants and were passed.

Andrew agnew, John Cameron, Henry Edmison. Thomas Ferguson, and James Simpson were deficient in Classics.

Journal, in which all journals, books, pamphlets etc. shall be entered as received by the Sub-Lirarian, and a Folio volume as a permanent general Catalogue in which the titles of all books shall be entered in full. The Secretary was instructed to direct the Booksellers to send all Periodicals in future to the College direct.

It was agreed that the Sub-Librarianship should be offered to Mr. James Smith and that the Trustees be recommended to make the Salary $60 in the meantime and should he hold the office during the Summer, $80. It shall be his duty to perform thoroughly all the work connected with the Library, entering all books now in the Library as well as those added during his term of office in a Folio-Volume with full titles; giving out and receiving books, making out reports etc. under the direction of the Senatus, specially that an annual report be given in to the Librarian at the Commencement of the session to be laid before the Senatus.

The Students and all others having Library books are required to give them in immediately.

The following Students were examined viz Intrants James Wylie, George Augustus Yeomans, Elias Mullan. Elias Mullan was deficient in Mathematics and Classics.

As second year's Students, [left column]John Bell, James Hope,

[right column]William Darrach Archibald G. Malloch

William Darrach was very deficient in Mathematics, and somewhat in Classics

Queen's College 8th October 1860 Which day the Senatus met and was duly constituted by the Chairman Dr. Williamson. Sederunt Dr. Williamson Chairman, Professors George, Mowat, Lawson and Weir. The minutes of former meeting were read and approved of.

The following Students were examined for the second year's Course [left column]John Macmillan, Duncan Morrison,

[right column]George Mulligan William Sullivan

William Baldwin Thibodo.

Duncan Morrison & William Sullivan slightly deficient.

In third year's Course [left column]George J. Caie, William Ferguson,

[right column]James Dingwall John Goodwill.

John Goodwill deficient in Mathematics and Classics James Dingwall deficient in Natural History.

It was resolved that before the Christmas holidays all intending applicants for the degree of B.A., shall be examined in some of the subjects of Examination for that honor.
