Fine day. D & I drove to town this A.M. Made some purchases for Gladys. Doctor permitted Harold to get up. Much pleased with condition of rib. Said he must have been very careful. H. came downstairs but by the lift, in the aft. under Miss Allen's care. Eth. at lunch. Coughing & looking wretched.
Letters from Mrs. Stowell & Miss MacLeod. Played cribbage in the evening with B.E.W. Lizzie very miserable, decided to go home. Isabel to lunch. She & D. out in the afternoon. Should have had sleigh out today.

The small quantity of snow lasts. Sleigh out today, Dorothy driving up to Prep. for Gladys. John called for his after. tea. Had a busy morning, E.I. directing Gill & George to remove A's bedroom furniture to G's old room and Edmund's cabinets & c & c to Alf's room. Glad to have morning room available again.
U.C.C. re-opened. Alf. returned today.
H. of course not yet able to go.
Bank's Annual Meeting held today.
Harold at the table at dinner.

Friday. Sleigh again. Drove to the Prep. taking Miss Allen, & brought Gladys back for lunch. My first visit since op. before Nov. 5th. W.J.A. dropped in to lunch. H. also at lunch. Eth. downstairs this afternoon.
Cribbage this evening as usual with B.E.W., also E.I. Very complimentary remarks upon B.E.W.'s annual address in newspapers.
Sent copies of University Monthly containing W.J.A.'s article on Mystery of Hamlet to the Stowells & Mrs. Smith.

Colder today, only 20 above. Sent sleigh for Gladys. Harold had his first drive with Miss Allen. G. drove back to lunch at her own house. I tired & not out at all until 6 P.M. Walked to Pop. Pls. Rd. & part of way up. Clear with full moon. Magnificent evening star.
To bed very early. B.E.W. busy over Sov. bk.

Not as cold today. Sent for Gladys & afterwards she and Dorothy drove to town with me. G. stayed for lunch & afterwards Miss A. went home with her by train. B.E.W. tel. he would not be home for dinner & did not come until 1 A.M. Had an exceedingly busy time arranging with other bankers for the absorption of Sov. bk., he as usual doing the principal part of the work with very important assistance from Vere Brown. Wrote to Mrs. Smith & a note to Mrs. G.I. Denison.
