More snow falling this A.M.
Good news of Gladys, tel. message from the nurse. She had an excellent night. Yesterday had been a very trying day, the leg very painful. No sleep & very tired being rather depressed by evening. Today looking quite bright again & leg much easier.
I drove up in snow-storm about nine & stayed until 3 o'c. Baby restless. Walked home, windy but no snow falling. Stopped on the way to see both Elsie & Ethel & their babies. Home about 5 o'c. for tea. Had my dinner upstairs. Leslie left this evening for Montreal. Letters from Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Baker and Miss MacLeod.

Extremely cold. I am told that our thermometer, north side of house, registered only 14 deg. below this morning. Beautifully sunny & no wind. I did not feel cold going up to see Gladys. Stayed until 2:15. Baby rather troublesome insisting upon being held in one's arms. Gladys a little headachy but getting on very well. Her room a bower of floral offerings. Dorothy went up towards end of aft. & Harold dropped in from college. He was allowed to see G. for "about a minute" he said. Billiard table taken apart and removed today in preparation for the little dance on Friday.

Still very cold but above zero. Very bright. All furniture removed from drawing room, Gill & George busy polishing floor. I to see Gladys at noon & had lunch there. She and baby doing very well. Miss A. looking tired.
Our dance in the eveng. very successful tho' rather lacking boys, two or three being laid up with la Grippe. Grace & Ewart, Marie & Mr. Midland and of course Carl came over to help us, & Adele Harmon. Dorothy an excellent hostess. Alfred enjoyed himself immensely. Harold not being a dancer went to the theatre with Eldridge Brouse. B.E.W. left about 10 o'c. for Ottawa. Evening became stormy with wind & snow. To bed about 2:30 A.M.

Not well today. Spent it practically in bed. So sorry not to be able to go to Gladys & relieve Miss Allen. Dorothy drove up in the aft. for short time, & afterwards to Muriel Bruce's to dinner. Alfred not well apparently has grip. H. very tired. Morrow returned home this morning, Isabel after lunch.
Very little below freezing point today. A good deal of snow fallen during the night.
Good report from Miss Allen this evening of Gladys & the baby.
