Pistil — Style, subulated — longer yn ye filaments, bent upwards & longer yn keel — lays inclosed in ye keels — if prefer — ye keel opens & ye filaments & anthera rise towards ye standard —

Fruit Pod — flat, long 2 sucters — seeds roundish

Root — large — very much run down, sends of large lateral fibres.

Stalk — Great nos. spread out from ye root & very much branched — — root branches — (believe) perrenal

Leaves — oblong narrow 1/2 inch long stand alternate, The flowers stand on short pedicles along ye top in an open spike — of a bright yellow.

Wretched bad in pastures — found in pastures & beyond new Mills — spreads over ground thick matt — etc etc

Calyx — perianth of one leaf, permanent divided into 5 deep segts long & acute & erect —

Corol — rotate, divided into 5 inversely ovate segments or rather petals — — patent — of a bright scarlet colour.

Stam — 5 filiform, patent, hairy filaments inserted into ye tube of ye Corol — & shorter

12 shorter than ye segts or petals — Anth — globular oblong compressed erect —

Pistil — Style, germen globular — filiform shorter yn filaments — Stigma small & simple.

Root fibrous — Stalk — rises about 4 inch high procum bent — quadrangular — Leaves — stand opposite, ovate, 7/10 long & 5/10 broad.

Flowers rise from ye ala of ye leaves & stand on long slender flower stalks —

Grows in moise Clayey land & was brought me by Mr. Fuller of Cape Ann —

Fruit — a round berry, within ye calyx —

June 18th No. 147 — White flower Bush, like elder — Mr. Fuller Pentand. Ingynia — Viburnum — Meal tree — or wayfaring tree — Hill . Withering.

13 The flowers are arranged in umbels — like Elder —

Calyx — very small, perminant Perianth with 5 very small acute segments.

Corol — one leaf petal, Campanulale, with 5 segts — blunt — patent —

Stam — 5 subulated filaments, erect & longer yn coral. Anthera & roundish & compressed.

Pistil — Germen beneath — Style — none St but a turbinated glandule — Stigmata 3 — obtuse

Seed — roundish berry

Shrub — This shrub grows 6 or 8 feet high — Bark light Brown — The Leaves a roundish oblong, 2 inch long 1/2 wide — acutely crenated. The leaves stand on ye young shoots in pairs, but is not properly pinnated. Marked with very large Veins

Grows by walls & among bushes in moist land of

14 of a dark green colour on ye upper side & light green under side The flowers stand in umbels of 3 or 4 inch diam — no general nor partial involuerum

The flowers are white & of ye smell of elder-flowers & appear exactly like them. Leaves short pedicles —
