Nancy (Brig) of Rochester, Nathan Briggs, master, Seth Barlow, second mate, keeper, on voyage from New York to Gothenburg March 26, 1810- May 28, 1810. Journal volume confiscated by the Danes for seven months while Barlow and his shipmates were taken onboard the Danish privateer North Star and later confined at Trondheim. (See NBW 1270, May 29, 1810-September 13, 1810). Journal recommences back onboard the Nancy, January 20, 1811- May 20, 1811 bound for Newry, Ireland.

Cuishion to [Conveigh?], This Day Dined with Mrs. [Hilmes?] Paid her for Board and Washing --- $3..60 --- Spent 12⅛ So end the Day with a Clear and Serene Sky ________________________________________________ [Write?] the 16th of February 1811 in Norway at Midnite. These 24 Good weather at 2 A.M. the Pilot left us in Company with a Ship and Brig and Several Small Craft Past a Sloop at anchor on the fishing Ground, at 8 P.M. the Lite bore NW by West from which I take my Departure it being in the Latitude of 40''25N Longitude 74 West, at 10 lost Site of the Lite.
