Special No 4

Capt P Fox Comdg Battery of Light Arty Galveston Tex having made written application to this Hd. Qts. to be relieved from the Command of his Battery and to be transferred to the Ordnance dept and it having been reported to that Hd Qts that Capt Fox is an experienced ordnance officer of many years experience

Capt P Fox of the Artillery is hereby transferred to the ordnance department and will report to Capt W S Good Actg Chief Ord Officer post F M M & CA at Anderson for duty in the ord dept Capt Good will assign Capt Fox to such duty in his department as he may think advisable and where Capt Fox can be of the most service to the country.

The a Qr Mstr will furnish transport takin the Capt Fox to carry out this order

Sir

Yours of the 22 Inst has been received And in Compliance therewith you will please find enclosed Estimates of my Company as required, my men on Extra duty have been paid by Capt Slay A. Q. M C. S. Army No Horses have been pressed as yet as there has been a Attachment sent in the County for that purpose should any be heareafter pressed by me in this Place I will Inform you of the it without delay I also enclose in this a memorandum of Expenses incurred by Officers of this Company whilst on [[act Lend?]] And wish particularly to call your attention to the same You will please forward me as Soon as convenient the Shirting &c You have for me

I have had the honor of serving you Sometime in December last and you promised you would send some Conscripts to Capt Fox Light Battery as soon as you obtained them I am now in Command of Said Battery and would request If you have any on hand now or so soon as you obtain Eight or Ten you will write me and I will send a Commissioned Officer of my Company immediately after them. Soliciting Your early attention

Sir

When I last saw you in this Place I spoke to you regarding the Order transferring Captain P. Fox of this Company to Ordnance Department as being without date And I thikn you promised you would furnish me with dates &c of said Order but as you may have forgotten it, I would request if you can obtain a Copy without inconvenience to your Self you will enclose it to me at this Place as it is absolutely necessary in making out my Company Reports, that I should have all dates of transfers &c
