A Meeting of the Trustees of the Ladies Medical College was held on the 26th of February 1884

Present Mr and Mrs Harty, Mrs Dickson, E.J.B. Pense and A.P. Knight

Minutes of 3 previous meetings read, approved and signed.

Moved by EJB Pense and seconded by Mrs Dickson that the Treasurer be authorized to pay salaries of Professors and Janitor at as early a date as possible.

Resolved that the Dean, Mr Pense, and Mr Knight be a Committee to attend to the issue of Calendar at such date as they may deem acceptable

The Board unanimously resolved to place upon record their deep sympathy with the Dean of the faculty, upon the loss he has sustained through the death of his son Dr CH Lavell. The members of the Board beg to assure Dr Lavell that he has not only their sympathy but that of every citizen acquainted with the amiable disposition, winning address, and qualities of his deceased son: and they trust that the Great Healer of all hearts may comfort and sustain him in this great affliction.

Resolved that the Registrar be instructed to communicate to Dr Grant regarding affiliation &c, and represent to him that in the opinion of the Trustees of the Ladies Medical college, the same privileges should be conceded to the Ladies Medical College by the University as are now granted.

to the Royal College excepting as regards to registration fees.

Resolved that a certificate accompany the payment of Scholarships when presented to successful competitors at the close of the session.

Resolved that Mr Wm Harty, Mr RV Rogers and the Registrar be a Committee to meet the resident Trustees of Queens College regarding affiliation and that a copy of Dr Grant's proposed terms of affiliation be placed upon record as follows

February 21st 1884. The Principal met with Mr Knight who submitted. The Charter of the Kingston Ladies Medical College given under the "Act respecting the Incorporation of Joint Stock Companies by Letters Patent".

The following By laws suggested as term of affiliation:

First That the Registrar of the Kingston L.M. College shall send in not later than 1st April of each year to the Registrar of the University a complete list of the Students who have attended lectures during the Session and shall also forward therewith to the Registrar of the University the fee of one dollar for each Student. In consideration of said fee the list of Students shall be published annually on the Calendar of the University as under Graduates in Medicine of the University along with the names of the Professors of the Kingston Ladies

Medical College and of the subjects taught by them respectively. Second: Students intending to graduate must pass the matriculation and other examinations prescribed in the University Calendar. Graduation fees must be paid to the Registrar of the University before Convocation day. Third: All expenses incurred on [coordinating] Examinations, in holding meetings of Convocation, on issuing diplomas, or for any other purpose whatsoever connected with the conferring of degrees shall by paid by the University. Fourth: Every candidate for the degree of M.D must send in to the Senate through the Registrar (a) Certificate that she is of the full age of twenty one years. (B) Certificate of Character from a Clergyman. (C) Certificate of matriculation and registration (D) Tickets for the full number of classes and of Sessions required on the University Calendar (E) Certificate that she has compounded medicines &c for two periods of six months, or one period of twelve months in the office of a qualified medical Practictioner, and has attended at least six cases of midwifery.

A Meeting of the Trustees of the Ladies Medical College was held on the 24th of March 1884.

Present Mr. and Mrs. Harty, R.V Rogers, E.J.B Pense, H. Folger, Mrs. Dickson, Mrs. Britton and Miss Gildersleeve and the Registrar.

Minutes of last meeting read and approved.

The Registrar notified the Board that the Trustees of Queen's University had agreed to grant the same terms to the Ladies Medical College as are accorded to the Royal Collegeas regards Graduation, Registration &c.

The Graduates' letter was read re Scholarships, asking the Board to apply the amount of the Scholarship for this year to be invested in appliances for the teaching of Obstetrics. Resolved that the Board gratefully accepts the handsome offering of the proceeds of the Kingston Ladies College Scholarship for the present Session, and will apply the same as desired in the purchase of additional apparatus.

Moved by R.V Rogers and seconded by Mr. Pense that the question of the amount of salary to be paid Dr. Fenwick and Demonstrators of Anatomy be left to the Dean and Vice Chairman.

Statement of Finances submitted showing balance on hand of $219.37

Resolved that the Vice Chairman Mr. Rogers, Mr Knight, Mrs. Dickson

A Meeting of the Trustees of the Women's Medical College was held in the City Council Chambers on 22d October at 4 o'clock afternoon.

Present Messrs Wm Harty, RV Rogers EJB Pense, Mrs Dickson, Mrs Macnee, Miss Gildersleeve, Dr Alice McGillivray, Dr AP Knight and the Dean

Minutes of last meeting read and approved.

Ordered that fifty dollars each be paid to Drs Dupuis and Irwin for services for last Session and that same amount be paid to them at the end of this Session in March 1889 for similar services.

The Question of giving instruction on History was referred to the Dean

Ordered that the Dean and Mr Pense be authorised to confer with Dr Hooper re cases in Midwifery for the Lady students.

Ordered that a timetable be inserted in the Calendar for next session, also the rule of the University regarding registration.

Ordered that the Dean, Dr Knight Dr A McGillvray & the Chairman be a Committee to arrange for the closing ceremonies next spring

Ordered that the Chairman name a Committee to enquire into the number of unpaid subscriptions and report whether it is possible to collect them

The Chairman named Mr Pense, Mr Rogers, Dr Knight and himself.
