686 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Dec 21 1888 1027 The City Attorney submits an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to regulate the construction alteration repair and removal of building within certain limits for the prevention of fires" Passed by the following vote. In favor F J Burns D E Durie Jos Green T E Jones Jas McCombs J F McDonald U R Niesz C F Reitze. Against the same None. 1028 The City Clerk submits an ordinance entitled "An Special Ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" Passed by the following vote. In favor F J Burns D E Durie Jos Green T E Jones Jas McCombs J F McDonald U R Niesz C F Reitze. Against the same None. The City Attorney submits a memorial of the Common Council of the City of Seattle praying that the Government of the United States admit the Territory of Washington to the sisterhood of states. It is ordered that the Clerk forward one copy each to the Clerk of the Senate and Clerk of the House of Representatives of the United States at Washington DC. 689 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Dec 28 1888 Ordered that the Committee on Street Lights place two lights in rear of Canadian Pacific Docks. Ordered that the $600.00 paid by Frank Clancy for a retail liquor license be refunded to him. Upon motion of Councilman Green the Mayor appoints Messrs Durie and Jones a committee to receive the Road Commission. Ordered that the Fire & Water Committee purchase a Lumber wagon for the use of the Fire Department. Seattle, Washington, Nov. 12th., 1891. To The City Council Of the city of Seattle Gentlemen:-- I submit herewith for your consideration the claim of A M Kent for salary due him from May 17th., to June 17th., 1891, together with his claim for $7.40 money paid out for various purposes while a member of the Police Force. Attached to the claim is a sttaement from Chief of Police giving a full explanation of it. Yours respectfully, C W Ferris Comptroller.
