We have just been informed by the Engineering News Publishing Company, that you are desirous of corresponding with manufacturers of Street Sweepers. We infer from this fact that your City is contemplating the purchase of some machinery of that kind, and we should like very much to have the privilege of making proposition on the Austin Standard Sweeper. There are more of those machines in use today throughout this country than all other makes combined, and we believe that we can convince you that they are the best device for cleaning the streets on the market.

Before making any specific proposition we should like to hear from you direct as to what your City contemplates and whether it is the intention to buy one or more machines of this description.

Dear SIr:-

Replying to your favor of the 1st, forwarded to us from the Harvey office. We are pleased to send you in separate wrapper a copy of our municipal catalogue. You will find therein descriptions of the different styles of sweepers we manufacture. The standard is the one we recommend for your consideration. It has a brook that will sweep 7 ft. wide and by driving the horses at the rate of three miler per hour you can sweep practically 100,000 sq. ft.

We can furnish either hickory fibre or rattan brooms. The hickory fibre is the material we recommend. It will sweep approximately 800 lineal miles before being worn out The cost is 7¢ per lb and 75 to 80 lbs are required to fill a broom. The price of the Standard sweeper is $275.00 f.o.b. our factory.
