Jocelyn Bates feels pretty wretched with that collar. It hurts him very much. He is to go on Friday to the Dr again & see if it seems to be doing the trick.

Jack wrote your Father that he will probably be here in about a week with John & Aunt E. You may be sure they will miss you too.

New Jersey or New York — or somewhere in that neighborhood. They are well off I believe [underlined] though I know little or nothing about them.

Jocelyn has had to take a leave of absence from college. Much to our distress but there seems no help for it. The Dr. says it might [underlined] perevent [prevent] a perfect cure for him to hurt himself now in the effort to do lab work in connection with his courses.

Fond love dearest from us all. Aunt E & I went to see an entertainment given by Doris and Macy Williams. It was fine [double underlined] Doris danced beautifully [underlined] ending with a Chinese dance in Costume — it was best of all. but all [underlined] her recitations were splendid too.
