I receive a letter from you, and always await a word from you with anxiety. Now darling don't forget to do that little bit for me, many are the hours I lay and wonder what you may be doing or where you are. I always think of you dear and the days gone by and hope to see some of them again.

around with it on? Well I hope the Spanish flu is cured by the time you get this letter.

Well dear to day is Xmas and just a year since I was sailing across on the W.S.S. Antigne. I suppose every one is wondering just now if I am still among the living. I am well and trying to enjoy my Xmas in Germany.

We have good quaters with a stove and table and chairs. The folks where we are staying gave us a big basket of apples and nuts last night. The people treat us pretty good so we have no kick.

I went to church this morning the first time in a long while. Our Xmas dinner was good we had pork chops, mashed potatoes, gravy, apple sauce, bread and coffee.

I see some of the troops are expected to arrive in New York by Xmas but we do not happen to be among them. The army of occupation will stay over here for a while so I guess there is no

Dear Ma.

Just dropping you a line to tell you I won't be home as I expected. They changed the orders the last minute and say we are going on the 15th of this month. Maybe we won't go to Frisco at all now, because all the shipments on the 15th go to New York. After this I am going to wait till I am on the boat or train before I write I am leaving here. I wrote to Uncle Joe and he answered my letter and told me to answer his soon as I got it, which I did the same day I wrote to you last.
