Gentlemen
Your letter of this day together with your report and other documents ^relative to laying of out the roads Ihave been duly honored with, which shall be duly attended to by the Executive, who begs leave to offer you in behalf of the State his thanks for your great assiduity and promptitude in laying off and demarkation of the Roads, leading through ^part of the Cherokee Nation into the State of Georgia

Knoxville March 4th 1806.

Gentlemen.
I have been directed by his Excellency Governor Sevier, to inform you, that your report of the 8th of February, on the subject of the road leading through the Cherokee nation into the State of Georgia, which has lately been cut him opened by Adam Peck, had come to hand, and that the report is of such a nature that he cannot act upon it.-
The Executive wishes you as soon as may be convenient, to report specially and particularly the State and condition the road was in when you viewed it First. Whether the road is cut and opened on the ground marked out by Joseph McMinn, Samuel Wear and John Cowan Esquires Commissioners appointed for that purpose, or not,

Sir In Pursuance of the appointment you was Pleased to honor us with we have explored and marked the roads alloted to the State of Tennessee and have Conformed as near as Possibe to Your Excellenceys Instructions No. 2 and beg leave to submit a Report No 3 accompanied with Copies of Two Tolks or letters addressed to the Great Council of the Cherokee Nation No 4 and 5 which we earnestly hope may meet your Excellencies approbation
