Trustees .
A monthly meeting of the Trustees, being the first since the Annual Meeting of the Proprietors, was held on Wednesday, at half past Three o'clock P.M. Present the President, Dr Bigelow and Messrs John T. Bradlee, ––––––––––, Brewer, Choate, Lawrence, Little, Livermore, Perkins, Rand, Snow and Turner
The record of the last Trustees' Meeting and of the Annual Meeting of Proprietors was read by the Secretary.
Election of President
The business first in order being the choice of officers ^Dr. Bigelow having declined a reelection the Board proceeded to ballot for President with the following result;

Election of other officers deferred
Dr. Bigelow moved that the Board proceed to the election of a Treasurer and Secretary.
Before the question was put on the above motion, the following substitute was offered: a motion of Mr Turner it was
Voted, – that the choice of the other officers, and the Committees be postponed to to an adjourned meeting of the Board.
On motion of Dr. Brewer it was

Voted, – that a Committee of three be appointed to nominate Committees.
The President thereupon appointed Messrs Rand, Brewer and Little to constitute said Committee.

Fixing of Salaries deferred
Voted, – that the fixing of salaries be also postponed to the next Meeting.
On motion of Dr. Bigelow it was
Land West of Cemetery. Com appointed to consider use & appropriation of
Voted, – that a Committee of three be appointed to consider what action may be necessary or expedient in regard to the use and appropriation of the lately purchased land West of the Cemetery.
The President appointed Messrs Bigelow, Livermore and Lawrence to constitute said Committee.
On motion of Mr Little it was
Voted, – that the President be added to the above Committee
Permanent Fund, Saleable land, By-Law revisions; subjects referred at Last Trustees Meeting
The Secretary called the attention of the Board to the subjects referred to its consideration at the last meeting of the Trustees, viz: the Communications of the Superintendent in regard to the increase of the Permanent Fund, and to computing the percentage of saleable land in the Cemetery. Also the subject of a revision of the By Laws. On motion it was
Laid on the table
Voted, – that the foregoing subject to be laid upon the table.
Geo. G. Spear recommended as Gate Keeper
A communication for the Superintendent recommending the appointment of Mr. George G. Spear to the office of Gate Keeper – the said communication being accompanied with numerous testimonials in favor of Mr Spear, were also laid before the Board by the Secretary, and it was

Voted, – that the consideration of the foregoing matters be postponed to the next meeting.

An adjourned meeting of the Trustees was held on Thursday, , at half past Three o'clock P. M.
Present, the President, and Messrs. Bigelow, N. J. Bradlee, Brewer, Choate, Lawrence, Little, Livermore, Perkins, Rand, Snow and Turner, full Board.
The record of the last meeting was read and approved.
Election of Secretary and Treasurer
The first business in order bieng the election of officers, which was postponed to this Meeting by special assignment, at the Meeting held on the , a ballot was had for the choice of a Secretary for the ensuing year and it appeared that Samuel Batchelder Jr. was elected to that office as aforesaid. A ballot was then had for the office of Treasurer, or the ensuing year and it appeared that H.B. Mackintosh was elected to that office as aforesaid.
