Petition of Thomas Burke for permission to move two buildings from Lot 7 in Blk 9 corner of Second and Marion across Second street to lot 4 Blk 10. Granted. The committee which was appointed to examine and report upon the Mill street Crib report as follows. "That we have examined the said work and plans and specifications and the contract and find that the walls have not the amount of batter (Namely 1 1/2" at the foot) as called for by the specifications, which we think a very great defect in the work and would recommend that a one and one quarter (1 1/4) inch iron bolt be put in said bulk heads extending entirely across the street secured by nuts on both ends said rods to be placed every 20 ft apart the work to be done under the direction of the street committee and to their satisfaction. Ordinances 892 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An Ordinance providing Harbor Rules and Regulations for the Harbor of the city of Seattle" which is passed by the following vote: In favor of same Frink, Green, Lake, Moran, Niesz, Russell & Reitze against the same none. 893 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An Ordinance to restrain and regulate the discharge of ballast and other material in the waters of Elliott's Bay" which is passed by the following vote viz: ayes Frink, Green, Lake, Moran, Niesz, Russell & Reitze noes none. 894 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An Ordinance regulating the landing of freight and property on the wharves slips and inclines of the City of Seattle and fixing the rates of wharfage thereon" which is passed by the following vote: In favor of same Frink, Green, Lake, Moran, Niesz, Russell & Reitze against the same none. 895 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An Ordinance to License tax and reglate pawn brokers and the business of pawn Broking" which is passed by the following vote: In favor of same Frink, Green, Lake, Moran, Niesz, Russell & Reitze against the same none. 896 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An Ordinance authorizzing and directing the transfer of the sum of seven thousand (7000) dollars from the General City Fund to the Road Fund of the City of Seattle, and five thousand (5000) dollars fromthe General City Fund to the fire Fund of the City of Seattle" which is passed by the following vote viz: AyesFrink, Green, Lake, Moran, Niesz, Russell & Reitze nays none. 897 An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An Ordinance authorizing and empowering the Seattle Street Railway Company its successors and assigns to use electricity as a motive power in the operation

Harbor Master Elected The Council now proceeds to the election of a Harbor Master for the City of Seattle and Samuel A Hoyt having received the unanimous vote of the council for Harbor Master is duly declared elected to said office. Inspector of Numbering elected The council now proceeds to elect an Inspector of Street Numbering whereupon A E Greenus having received the unanimous vote of the Council for said office is duly elected Inspector of Street Numbering of the City of Seattle. On motion of Counciman Niesz the Mayor appoints as a Special Committee to examine and report on a line to be marked by a line of Piles to be kept open as an avenue around the curve of the mud flats at the proper distance from deep water. Councilmen Niesz, Moran & Russell. On motion the plats of Olive Addition to the City of Seattle & Supplemental Plat of Blck 20 G Kinnear's Addition to the City of Seattle are approved.
