Sir

I take the liberty to enclose you some resolutions entered into by a large Majority of the Field, and staff officers of my Brigade on the 3rd Instant. with a request that you will forward the same to the Legis lature of this state at their present session. with such remarks from yourself on the present Militia law as you may thing proper to make

I am anxious as to myself, that the drills should be continued, say six days in place of four, provided we can be furnished with Camp equipage Rations &c - There is no doubt in my mind but it would be of great advantage to the Mili =tia o fthis state

with respect your ob servt

Gentlemen,

You will find inclosed the proceedings of the officers of two Brigages [sic] of the second division Ten. Militia

Without subscribing particularly to their views I have to remark that much good would result from anual [sic] drils [sic] if the time was at least one week - and I am of opinion that tents and camp equipages ought to be furnished; this could be deposited at the place of Brigade drill and be useful for many years- this expence together with that of furnishing the meat and bread part of rations would be small and much good would no doubt result from it - The present miitia law is very dificent [sic]

Respectfully yr frind [sic]
