Thereupon the following proceedings are had;A petition is received from J A Wirth an others praying for the construction of a sidewalk on Pine, 9th, Stewart, 10th and Virginia Streets, thereupon the same is referred to the Street Committee. A petition is received from Fred E Sanders and other asking permission to remove earth from Mill Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets for use of petitioners, thereupon the same is laid on the table. A petition is received from Clark Anderson & Co and others praying for the opening of Union Street from Front to West Streets and then to Pike, thereupon the same is referred to the Street Committee The Special Committee to which was referred the matter of grades submit the following report to wit:Seattle W T April 20th 1882 To His Honor the Mayor and Common Council

A report is received from the Fire Warden upon a certain defect in Section 5 of Ordinance No129; thereupon the Ordinance Committee is instructed to submit an Ordinance amending said Section Ordered that the Council now stand adjourned until Friday evening April 28th AD 1882 Attest: E S Osborne Clerk Approved L P Smith Mayor Be it remembered that on this the 28th day of April 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment of April 21st 1882 The following officers are present to wit: His Honor the Mayor L P Smith and Councilmen Thomas Clancy, John Collins, M Densmore, Wm A Jennings, John Keenan, Moses Keezer and Charles McDonald Thereupon the following proceedings are had. A petition is received from Cow Crater and others praying that the City Council declare the Skating Rink in Yesler's Hall a nuisance and order the same to be abated; referred to the City Attorney A petition is received from Lind and others praying for the construction of a Sidewalk along the East Side of 11th Street from the South side of Jackson Street to the South side of Weller Street, thereupon the Ordinance committee is instructed to submit an Ordinance providing for the construction of such sidewalk. COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE

And now the Council proceeds to consider Ordinance No 269, the same being entitled as follows, towit; - "An Ordinance to amend Section five of an ordinance entitled 'Ordinance No 129, relating to Fire Warden his powers and duties.'"

After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote, towit; In favor of adoption, Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, M. Densmore, John Keenan, Moses Keezer and Charles McDonald. Against adoption, none.

Ordered that the Ordinance Committee be and they are hereby instructed to submit an ordinance to provide for the construction of a sidewalk on the South side of Washington Street from Second Street and to Fourth Street.

Ordered that the Council now stand adjourned.

A petition is received from R.S. Green et al praying for the opening and widening of the extension of Madison Street, and the same in grading.
