709 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Nov 6 1885 over until the next regular meeting and the Clerk directed to refund the deposit of $250.00 to each of said bidders. Ordinances An Ordinance is submitted entitled "An Ordinance granting the right to erect poles and stretch wires thereon for Electric purposes", which is read and referred to the Judiciary Committee. An Ordinance is submitted by the clerk entitled "A special ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills", which after being duly considered is passed dby the following vote, viz: In favor of said ordinance Calligan, Furth, Hall, Harrington, Keenen, Lake, McDonald, Post and Young Against none. Union St Sewer The matter of constructing s sewer inUnion Street now beingtaken up: Onmotionof Counclman Geo W Hall, itis ordered that the lowest bid for the construction of said sewer inaccordance with the plans and specificationfiled, towit: the bid of Simpson and Jordan be and the smae is hereby accpeted, upon said bidders filing a good and sufficient bond inthe sum of $3000.00 for the faithful performance of the work, and that the City Atty be and he is hereby authorized to draw up the necessary ordinance and contract. And now the Council proceeds to open the bids for the constructionof a stable for the City when the following bids were received, to wit: C Peacock and A McRea $550.00 W Taylor $750.00 Wright & Granes $534.75 J F Byrne $440.00 W H Brick $687.50 Misner & Conway $550.00 On motion the Contract is awarded to [J F Byrne]] upon his filing a good and sufficient bond in the sum of $500.00 Abd the city Atty. requested to drawm thenecessary ordinance and contract.
